What is an IFMGA guide?
IFMGA stands for International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations, and is the umbrella organisation which mountain guide organisations from various countries are allowed to join once they have shown that their training and assessment programs are of a sufficiently high standard. (Great Britain, for example, was admitted into the IFMGA in the mid seventies).
More..Mont Blanc Guides
Established in 2004, Mont Blanc Guides is the only company to specialise exclusively in guiding the ascent of Mont Blanc; to date we have guided over 1300 people on the mountain.
By restricting ourselves to one mountain we have been able to constantly refine our courses into what we hope is now the best Mont Blanc experience available. If Mont Blanc is your goal, then we believe that our focus and experience will give you the best chance of success, but more importantly, you will have a great week in the mountains.
John Taylor
John is the founder and head guide of Mont Blanc Guides and has been climbing and skiing in the Mont Blanc massif and all over the alps for over 20 years. Originally from South West England, John now lives in the Chamonix valley and can see Mont Blanc from his bedroom window. He is an IFMGA mountain guide.
