Getting to Chamonix

Chamonix has easily comminication links by car, plane or train.

By Plane

Geneva is the closest airport to Chamonix (98km), but Lyon, Chambery and Turin are also easily accessable and all are serviced by no-frills and full-service airlines.

On ariving at Geneva, there are various options to get you to Chamonix.

Transfer Service

You can book shared mini-bus transfers with www.a-t-s.net or www.chamonixshuttles.com.  They will meet you in the arrivals hall in Geneva airport directly from your flight and drop you directly ot our apartment. Prices start at approximately €40 per person per single trip depending on time of day and month. This takes approximately 1hr15.

By Car

There is direct access to Chamonix via the Autoroute Blanche motorway (A40), part of the European motorway network. Driving from Calais is comfortably achievable in a day. Our accommodation has parking.

By Train

There is a railway station (SNCF) in the centre of Chamonix. It links with St Gervais/ Le Fayet and Martigny, which in turn links with the TGV (high speed French rail network).

Directions

• Follow the Autoroute Blanche (A40) towards Chamonix Mont-Blanc
• When motorway comes to end and road starts getting higher follow N205, then N506
• Pass turnings to Servoz and then take turning off to Les Houches
• Follow direction to Bellevue Prarion
• Continue on road until you come to first major ski lift called the Bellevue
• Turn right in front of the cable car and go through short tunnel under piste
• Approx 300m the hotel Le Grand Balcon is on the right, the apartment and parking is opposit
• Go to the reception of hotel where they will see you into the apartment
